The Minister of Community Development and Social Services, Honourable Olipa Phiri launched the National Social Protection Policy, Monitoring and Evaluation Framework on 17th May, 2019 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Lusaka.
During the launch, the Minister said that the framework should have been launched in 2016 but was paused due to the work that was being done on the Seventh National Development Plan because there was need to align the framework with the plan.
The Minister also stated that the framework was a true reflection of the Government’s commitment to the expansion of the Social Protection sector. Furthermore, she stated that the framework was an investment in efficient and effective delivery mechanisms aimed at tracking progress on poverty and vulnerability reduction in the country.
The Minister thanked the Cooperating Partners and in particular the United Nations Agencies for the support towards the development, launch and dissemination of National Social Protection Policy, Monitoring and Evaluation Framework.
